It’s Man food Monday! Smothered Steak for Two

Some of the most popular projects were the ones that are all about the food. As you think of a food to preapre that will be man pleasin” this week, here is a great one you may want to try if your man is all about the meat.

This recipe was contributed by Carla Dietz from San Jose, Ca

Smothered Steak for Two

Ingredients

  • 2 Filet mignon steak
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups Sliced mushrooms Not too thin!
  • Blue Cheese Room temperature, sliced into several chunks

Instructions

  1. Just after putting steaks on to grill, melt butter and pressed garlic in a large saucepan over medium heat.

  2. Add mushrooms to saucepan.

  3. Add salt and pepper, and let simmer over low heat, until mushrooms are tender.

  4. When steaks are done to your liking, place a chunk of blue cheese on top of each sizzling steak. Then pour sautéed mushrooms over the blue cheese, allowing them to overflow over the sides.

Recipe Notes

Carla says: My husband likes to do the grilling part while I prepare the rest.  It makes for a fun way to share the making of a meal!  Add a green salad with more blue cheese, and some fresh baked bread with butter for a simple but delicious man-pleasing meal!

Fun Friday – Planning a Date

Fun Friday – Planning a Date

Have you got something fun planned for the weekend?  Take a minute now to plan a little something-something for you and your hubby to do this weekend.

Here is just one idea from our list “20 Dates for $20 or Less”:

Starbucks   And not the drive thru. Go in, order a couple of tall lattes, two giant cookies, and soak up all that atmosphere.

Coffee Cup

Not the most creative idea on the planet, but the prize doesn’t go to the most creative woman – it goes to the woman who actually goes on a date with her husband.

OK – If you count Amazon as a store…

And I do.

Today is the official release date for my book, The Husband Project.

Thanks again to all who contributed to the book. In the coming year, I will be sharing parts of the book, great ideas and tips from women who have done the projects (y’all) and lots of free stuff.

Stay tuned – there are going to be some happy husbands around these parts.

MegaphoneOK – I blew it.

Yesterday, I was updating the blog site with a HUGE picture of the book, plus some of the endorsements I have received. I sent out 400 postcards to event planners yesterday, so I cleaned up the site to give them an idea of what the book was about, and who liked it.

So I disabled the Feedburner feature of the site so that all those endorsements would not get sent to all of you. Or so I thought.

I apologize for what looks like shameless self-promotion. But I must say, it has been a blast hearing from all of you and the congrats on the book (and those tricky endorsements.)

I love this book!  This message is life-changing and will transform the way you look at your marriage – and your man.  When we look for and encourage the best in people, we tend to find it.  I will be recommending this book to everyone!  — Shaunti Feldhahn, best-selling author of For Women Only: What You Need to Know About the Inner Lives of Me

Wow! I can’t think of anything more powerful a woman can do for her marriage than The Husband Project!  There will be thousands of smiling men as a result of this great work! I highly recommend it for every woman. Shhh! It is a secret, but I’ve already started on The Husband Project to bless my man!

I couldn’t put the book down. With great insight into the heart, desires and needs of men, Kathi has put together a “can’t miss” guide to a better marriage. It has wit (I’m still laughing at the “Worship Macarena”) and wisdom. My favorites are 2, 14, and 20 – oh, and all the bonus projects (hey, I’m a guy). Now I’m going to put everything about this book out of my mind so when my wife gets it, I’m surprised (but hopefully not clueless).

Although The Husband Project is camouflaged as an adorably written and delightfully funny book, in all reality it’s a powerful tool to help facilitate a more solid and fulfilling marriage. Lipp’s engaging style of writing presents her many suggestions in a plausible and exciting way. Chock full of fresh ideas and practical insights, I found this book inspiring and entertaining—and the 21 day plan easy to follow. The principles found in The Husband Project are sure to infuse your marriage with renewed passion and reawakened love.

What little girl hasn’t dreamed of Prince Charming?  Of her wedding day?  What happens beyond happily-ever-after is Kathi Lipp’s territory.  If your romance has turned into a nightly sitcom, this author has some fun ways to put the courtship back into your marriage, not to mention bonding time with your girlfriends.  An excellent resource for all things relationship and getting the most out of a joyous journey alongside your husband.

We Have a Cover

We Have a Cover

Hey Project Managers –

Just wanted to give you a heads up that thanks to all your love and support – we have a real live book:

The Husband Project

Isn’t it pretty? You know when you were in high school and you got your first formal dress and you just stood in front of your mirror and for a few minutes you didn’t feel like the fat girl or the girl with Don King-style hair but actually felt kind of pretty and like you might have a chance making it in this life?

Or was that just me?

Anyway. That’s how I feel when I look at this cover – like there is a real author out there somewhere who wrote a book and I stole her cover.

And I’m not giving it back.

I cannot thank each of you that contributed to the book – whether it was by posting or praying. I hope you enjoy YOUR book when it comes out on January 1.

And yes – we will party. More details to come…
