There are so many cool things about my fellow author Arlene Pellicane…
She is a Harvest House author
She was featured on HGTV for a bedroom makeover for her son (I didn’t know real people actually got on HGTV…)
She’s smart, funny, and adorable
Oh – and she has this amazing, real life for real women book
Book: 31 Days to a Younger You: No Surgery, No Diets, No Kidding (Harvest House)
Here’s all about it:
In the next 31 days, how would you like to:
• Be thinner and more attractive
• Wake up with excitement for life
• Have more energy to do what you want
• Update your wardrobe without looking like you’re trying too hard
• Improve your relationship with your spouse, children, family, and friends
• Master daily habits that improve the quantity and quality of your days
I was at SeaWorld with my children and I had to laugh at something my daughter Noelle did when she was two in the bathroom. As we were leaving, she stopped right in front of the full length mirror. Looking at herself intently from head to toe, she exclaimed with attitude, “Good!” Not sure of what I heard, I asked her, “Noelle, did you just say that you look good?” With a broad smile on her face, she said “Yes!”
What a crack up! I’m glad my 2-year-old has a positive self image! I wondered if the women I knew could say the same thing. Friend, when you look in a full length mirror and see yourself from head to toe, do you think “good”? Looking and feeling younger is about accepting your appearance, embracing your God given age, and doing your best to improve your assets. After all, when the Heavenly Father looks at you, His daughter, He proclaims “Good!”
So the next time you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror, don’t forget to smile. You are a luminous work in progress. Beauty has no age limit or expiration date.
An energetic speaker and author, Arlene Pellicane has been featured on The Hour of Power, The 700 Club, and Turning Point with Dr. David Jeremiah. Her book, 31 Days to a Younger You: No Surgery, No Diets, No Kidding helps women become more beautiful from the inside out.
To win, all you have to do is leave a comment about some way you want to be a healthier you in the next 31 days. Me? I’m doing pilates for a minimum of 10 minutes a day (doesn’t seem like much? That’s five more hours of pilates than I was doing two months ago…)
Leave your comment below and Friday I’ll announce the winner!
Fabu-You Friday is where I take one of the AWESOME letters I’ve received from one of you – my favorite readers- about how one of the principles in my books has made your life just a little bit better. Each Friday, I will send the chosen letter-writer a Dory charm (suitable to put anywhere you darn well choose…) and one of the randomly chosen comments a copy of the book that inspired the comment. (If you already own the book, I would be happy to send it to a friend of yours who needs a little boost.) See the question at the end of the post for your chance to comment and win!
Hi Kathi,
I just wanted to let you know how the Me project is going. I’m only on day 3, but you gotta start somewhere. My afternoon didn’t go as I had planned, but when I was done, I realized that my time spent supported 4 of the dreams I’d put in my journal and I wanted to share it with you. My husband, kids and I spent the afternoon working in our backyard destroying an old sandbox and moving all the sand into our truck. This is how it applies to the Me project.
First one of my dreams was more quality time with my husband – totally got some of that today.
2nd was more quality time with my kids – again, got lots of that today. Team Robinson Rocks!
3rd – to have the kind of backyard that I can entertain and relax in without always focusing on what needs to get done. – Dealing with the old sandbox was one step closer.
4th – getting healthy. I burned so many calories today and used muscles I haven’t used in a long time.
You are so right. Once you put down on paper your dreams, you start to notice how your everyday life directs you toward the ones that are part of God’s will too. Can’t wait to see what God has planned next.
Ashleigh
Way to go Ashleigh! Once you write your dreams and goals down, it becomes so much clearer to see how God is taking everyday steps to make your big dreams a tiny step closer!
Q4U – What is one of the goals that you want to take a step closer to this year. (Or one you are already taking steps closer to!) Comment below – we will announce the winner next Friday.
