and let me tell you, there is always that possibility….
Thanks to each and every one of you that prayed for my time with MOPS and Focus on the Family last week. So many of you have asked, “So… how did it go?” and I have been so exhausted since doing it that I’m now sitting down to get all my thoughts on blog.
1. MOPS was awesome. I have always loved that organization, but now meeting the people behind the scenes? I love them that much more. If you are not a part of MOPS and you have preschoolers, well you should be. If you are a part of MOPS and aren’t going to their national convention in August, please come. Bribe your husband with lingerie so he’ll watch the kids and come – it is going to be amazing…
1. A Dry Run is a Good Thing. I met with the web/TV producer Tuesday night (my radio interview was on Wednesday,) and had a great time getting to know her. Then she asked me, “Would you like to go over to the Focus radio studio to see where they will be interviewing you.” Um… Yeah… So Deanna took us over there and she did a practice run with me…
And then (because we are total nerds..) Roger and I did a dry run as well:
I know. Nerd Alert.
Finally, the big day (after almost no sleep) arrived, and it was amazing. I will have pictures from that day, but the interview went really well, we had a great time, and I didn’t say one totally inappropriate thing.
Finally, we got to meet up with our friends Steve and Shannon, (Steve works at FOTF). After being so nervous, I needed something to calm my nerves. No! Not alcohol, (please, this is Focus on the Family we are talking about!) But this is Zoe, Steve and Shannon’s new puppy. Zoe is your reward for praying for me. Zoe did the trick.
I’m sitting in a hotel in Colorado Springs and just can’t get to sleep. It’s been a great day with a visit to MOPS headquarters getting to present to many people on their staff. We had fun with THE ME PROJECT, and I had a chance to meet one on one with several of their key leadership. Had lunch at a great BBQ place (Brothers, if you are ever in the Denver area. Roger is a rock star when it comes to sniffing out the best dives.) Thanks to those of you who were praying for my time there.
Wednesday, I have a radio interview with Focus on the Family.
As you can imagine, I’m a wee bit nervous.
I will be sharing about THE HUSBAND PROJECT (to be broadcast at a later date.) I would love your prayers that I communicate clearly, would be able to sleep tonight, and would be an encouragement to those who are wanting more for their marriages.
Thanks to everyone who participated in last weeks flirt challenge.
While you are all winners, her are the people I’m sending stuff to (because Random.org told me to…)

Finally , I love that so many of you too on the Post-it Note day. I wanted to leave you with a different kind of note. This is from one of my favorite websites, www.passiveagressivenotes.com Enjoy!
So many of you read my books or this blog because you love story. Tell me what I should (don’t you hate that work, should?) do, and I rebel. Tell me a story, and change my life.
Someone I work with and admire, Julie, sent out this trailer and everyone I’ve shared it with is amazed. How can two minutes be so much. Because we all have a horse God has put in our lives to learn from. Perhaps your horse is a teenage son, or a boss who beats you down. Maybe it’s your husband who has had a midlife meltdown, or an aging parent who is making you crazy.
If you have ever worn it to drop your kids off in the morning.
If it has any holes that are not strategically placed by a clothing designer.
These are all examples of things you should not wear to bed tonight.
I’m not saying it has to be thigh-high stockings and a leather bustiers. (Who sleeps like that, anyway?) But, I do want you to step it up a notch from your normal pajama pants and high school PE t-shirt.
Tell me that you did it (no, I don’t need the gritty details,) and I will pick one winner to receive a yummy smelling candle for the next time your forgo the sweatpants.
There have been a lot of men this week blushing at work.
Good work girls.
Today, I want you to plan a treat just for him. When Roger and I were dating, we would each grab a little personal sized Ben and Jerry’s and eat it in front a romantic movie.
However, ever since we got married, all of our ice cream tastes have been merged into one cheap half gallon of neapolitan.
Tonight, I’m going to buy Roger a pint all to himself. One that he doesn’t have to share with me, the kids, or the dog.
If you didn’t get the note on Tuesday to go get him something, or bake him something, or take him somewhere, you just have to tell me when you are going to give him a treat, and what it will be.
I will pick a winner to receive a $5 gift card to Starbucks so you can treat him one more time.
You are all so much fun. I love to hear what you are saying, writing and posting about your men!
Day #3 is pretty simple:
Text or Email something fun or flirty to him today (bonus point if he gets it in the middle of his work day.)
All you have to do is let me know that you sent it (or tell me when you are going to send it) and you will be entered into the drawing for THE MARRIAGE PROJECT.
I have loved this week – y’all have blessed me so much – you are a fun group. We should hang.
All you have to do today is just brag on him a little.
Let it drop to his mom that he’s a great husband. Let your kids know that their dad is the smartest guy you know (or makes the best salsa in the world.) Brag to your girlfriend about how your husband knows how to hang up a towel.
It really is that easy.
Oh and to help you in this department, I’m offering a little special over at the store: buy one of the “My Husband is a Hottie” shirts over at the store, and just for this week they are $14 (usually $18.)
When my assistant, Sunnie wore this in front of her kids, her sons couldn’t BELIEVE that their mom would wear such a shirt. Yep – it’s the only shirt on the planet that can make your husband blush, your mother-in-law proud, and your kids embarrassed at the same time. Check it out in my store at http://www.kathilipp.com/products/ under OTHER. (They will be on sale through Friday.)
OH – and a head’s up! On Thursday, I want you to get your husband a treat – a candy bar, a slice of cake, something (that he doesn’t have to share with you or a kid…) so you may want to be on the lookout today for something to give him tomorrow!
Today’s winner will get a DVD of THE HUSBAND PROJECT.
Who knew that so many men needed some flirting in their lives?
Over 60 (!) of you signed up for the 5 Day Flirting Challenge. I am blown away! And it’s not too late: If you have a friend who you want to challenge along with you, send her over here and she can flirt along with the rest of us!
So how bad did I need this in my own life? Just last night as I was falling asleep, Roger said, “Thanks for all the extra attention this weekend. It’s been so nice…” (And all I could think of was that I gave him an extra hug in the morning. Yikes. The poor boy has been way deprived…)
So today, all I want you to do is leave a post-it somewhere where only he will find it (and he doesn’t have to find it today.) Write something fun, something flirty. Here are 21 suggestions from the book THE HUSBAND PROJECT
I’m praying for you today.
Those jeans are really working for you…
I love you.
You are the best dad!
You’re the kind of husband that makes the other wives jealous.
You rock my world!
Can’t wait to see you tonight – meet me upstairs…
Thanks for working hard to provide for us. I appreciate all that you do.
You make me feel beautiful.
I thank God for you everyday.
How did I get so lucky, being married to a guy like you?
You’re great!
You make everyday more fun.
Have a great day.
You’re hot!
I feel so safe with you.
Smart and good looking – I’ve got the whole package in you!
You can be very distracting, you know…
Our kids are so blessed to have a dad like you.
That smile I wear – it is all because of you.
God have blessed me in big ways by letting me be your wife.
And once you tell me what you wrote and where you hid it, I will put you in the drawing for a copy of my latest book THE ME PROJECT
And our winner from Friday is:True Random Number Generator
I’ve noticed while I ‘ve been on my deadline, my ability to pay attention to Roger’s needs has gone down dramatically.
Now don’t get me wrong, I still fix dinner, do the laundry, and tell him “I love you,” on a regular basis. The basics are covered.
The problem? I’m a little bit out of practice when it comes to the fun part of marriage. So next week I’m putting flirting on my to-do list and I want to know – will you join me.
If you are willing to do something, everyday, to flirt with your husband, I want you to join me. Starting on Monday, I will give you a little task that will take less than five minutes. By the end of the week, I guarantee your marriage will be just a little bit hotter. (Plus, I will do a giveaway everyday when you put in the comments what you did. So you will have fun, prizes and flirting. Not a bad week.)
And to give you a head start on the winning, if you put in the comments that you are IN for the challenge next week, I will pick a winner and send you a copy of THE HUSBAND PROJECT.
We are going to have some fun next week…
Thanks to all of you for sharing your Starbucks orders – I have rarely had that much fun reading about other people’s addictions!
And the winner of the Starbucks card is #31 commenter: Erin!!!
