Prayers from the Parking Lot: 50 Short Reflections for Moms on the Go
Raise your hand if you’ve ever hidden in your car. Just for a moment, just long enough to catch your breath. You’re not alone! Moms everywhere are sitting on park benches and bleachers, in minivans and bus stops, at the baseball field, the dance studio, or in line at the grocery store. And we are exhausted.
Moms don’t need more information, instructions, expectations, or responsibilities. Instead, you need something to put your mind and heart at ease. You need a reminder that everything you’re anxious about is in God’s hands. And you need it in small doses you can fit into your schedule–even if that means a few stolen minutes in the car!
Prayers from the Parking Lot meets you where you are–overscheduled and overwhelmed. Perfect for reading while you’re on the go, these to-the-point devotions and prayers are topically arranged so you can go straight to the issue you’re facing right now. If you’re looking for understanding and encouragement as you navigate your busy days, this little book will yield big results.

I spend a lot of quality time in my car! I have four kids that play soccer, including three in travel soccer (one that practices over 30 minutes away four days a week…I am well acquainted with that parking lot!!). I also have a little one doing dance and gymnastics and another one doing piano, and I usually wait in the car for all those practices. And this doesn’t count as a parking lot, but my oldest is in college seven hours from me. She’s a runner, so I’ve driven 8-12 hours each way to get to watch her run several times this season. I actually enjoy listening to Kathi’s podcasts when I’m driving (and a couple other sermons and podcasts) while my three year old is soaking up Frozen and Cinderella. :). Parking lot time doesn’t have to be a negative…you just have to embrace the reality of this season with kids!! They will ALL be driving before I know it!!
I spend my parking lot time at a local park. It’s peaceful. This book would be a great item to have for that time.
My parking lot time is when I am early for a dr appointment and don’t want to wait inside. Thanks!
I don’t have a lot of parking lot time as a homeschool mom. But I do get a little waiting on kids to load up after a park play date.
I homeschool, but that means outsourcing biology, choir, violin lessons, beginning band, elective classes for my son, martial arts, dance, theater, marching band. So I am chauffeuring a lot. My parking lots are 2 schools and 4 studios.
Hi I am a nanny so I spent my parking lot time at a school, guitar lessons, piano lessons, soccer practice and everything in between!! I would love to have a copy of your book!!
I spend my parking lot time picking up kids from school and after school activities.
My prayer/quiet time is in the parking lot before I enter my workplace. It puts me in the right place before I begin my day to serve others
I am spending my parking lot time waiting for my grocery pickup order! As a new mom, I would love this book! It sounds incredible!
