Thanks to everyone who took the time here on the blog and on Facebook to answer why it is so hard to date your spouse. Here is the list of reasons from most popular to least:
1. Babysitting
2. Time
3. Money
4. Is it really worth the effort?
5. Kids Activities
6. Exhausted
7. Lack of Planning
Y’all feeling like you are in pretty good company?
Over the next two weeks, we are going to be brainstorming here on the blog about how to get that time, energy, and reliable babysitter in order to date your mate.
And here is my challenge: Would you date your mate once in the next two weeks?
If it has to be an at home date, that still counts. But I just want you to set aside some time to make it happen. I promise, we are going to give you tons of ideas and motivation, but it is up to you to make it happen.
So – can you- by Sunday March 7th – date your mate? If so, put your pledge in the comments and we will give you everything you need to make it happen.
Yes. I will date my husband before March 7th. Just need to find a babysitter.
Yes. I will date my husband between now and March 7th. Thanks for the encouragement and tools!
Now that I have a babysitter, we will date.
I am in! Let the planning begin!!!
JUST had one (does that count?) – the boys were out all day at a debate tourney, and we went to movies & dined on sushi (too expensive for four, great for two)…
1. Yes! I will date my hubby.
2. Do we have to be awake?
hahahaha. no really.
I will date my husband. I promise.
Absolutely, I married him for a reason and that reason has not changed! He’s a man after God’s own heart and I adore him. I promise we will make time for “us” before March 7th.
How much do I love all of you? There are going to be some happy, happy husbands!
I’m in!!!
I pledge to date the hubby in the next two weeks. I’m even going to shoot for TWO dates by March 7th, one at home and one out.
I am soooo looking forward to a date with my mate! I promise to go by March 7th.
We will definitely have a date night (or two) in the next couple of weeks!!
Well, believe it or not, today is actually my wedding anniversary, and I just arrived home yesterday from a weekend-long date in Pacific Grove to celebrate 24 years of marriage! So great! But, yes, I WILL date my mate again before March 7th. Dates and times away together have kept us connected even in the midst of jobs, chores, four children, and ministry.
I am in, I pledge to date my husband by March 7th
Yes! I will date my mate. I look forward to every minute that I am alone with my sexy man!
I do, hereby, solemnly swear to date the man.
😉
I pledge to date my mate by March 7!
I talked to my husband, and he thinks we can set aside the evening of Feb. 28th. (My teen girls have offered to babysit and we have a restaurant gift certificate, so we’re all set.)
I WILL date my mate! It’ll probably be a home date, but I’m determined to spend time with my husband…
ALONE!
Yes I will date my mate. Looking forward to it!
YES ! It will be fun !
Most definitely…..
Would love to plan a date and can’t wait!
I Heidi, do solemly swear to date my husband in the next two weeks. I think I can get my Mom to watch the kids and we can escape for the day, hour or at least fifteen minutes next Friday when he is off work. He has every other Friday off (along with weekends) and it is a nice time to get out if we can figure out the babysitting thing. Okay, yes I can, yes I can.
I will date my mate. something we never seem to do….go see a movie and then dinner and we WON’T talk about the kidlettes!!!! (okay, not much. lol)
Yes, I will date my mate. We have had a big date planned for next weekend since Christmas -hope that still counts.
