Your first challenge is simple. All I want you to do is say something nice to your husband. That’s it. Really. Let’s just love him with words
Because the truth is: often we wives have the power to change the way our husbands walk through the world by choosing the words we speak to them.
How you do it is up to you. Here are a few ideas for ways to love him with words:
- Say it to him
- Text it to him
- Put it on a Post-it Note in his truck
- Call him
- Whisper it to him
- Put it in a card in his computer case
- Write it in lipstick on the bathroom mirror
Have you got your great idea of how you’re going to say it? Great. Now what to say…
Here are some ideas. These are from The Husband Project: 21 Post-it Note Sized Encouragements
And remember, tell me in the comments what you did (or are planning to do) to love him with words. (And post a picture to my Facebook Page so I can share your love with the world!)
I just sent him an email to tell him he is simply the best and I love him so so much, and also to let him know I am very grateful to him for working so hard to provide for our four guys and I.
He is my Hero.
Sofia,…..Ghana (time is 11:30 pm). 30mins to midnight
Just saw your love challenge project and I find it very interesting. I am going to start right away.
Thanks for such great ideas,God bless you.
Sofia.
Just seeing your challenge, so I’m starting today!! I just texted my hubby telling him how much I love him and thanking him for working so hard for our family.
For those of you not wanting to use lipstick on the mirror, use a bar of soap. I asked my hubby to marry me with a message written in soap. Been married 11 years now 🙂
I sent my husband several texts telling him how I feel about him
Right now the only way I have to communicate to my husband is through e-mail, which I write to him every night. Today I included a scripture and prayer for him. I always try to end my e-mails with telling him how proud I am or that I’m praying, always with I love you and miss you.
I’m going to try the lipstick thing (without thinking of how difficult it might be for me to remove later), on the mirror in master bathroom (definitely don’t want our 2-year old to get any ideas of coloring with mama’s lipstick and anywhere except paper) and write, “Thank you for the hot nights!”
Complimenting his cooking.
I sent a text in the middle of the day to him that just had a kiss in it…..
Posted on his facebook wall that I love him and am proud of him for the awesome job he does with the youth group and for how hard he is working in his classes (he is working a degree in leadership and ministry) and thanked him for working so hard to provide for our family. He texted me and thanked me for the post on fb! 🙂
Stole a few extra minutes this morning to connect with him instead of our usual “Hi, see ya later, bye’ morning routine. Texted him this afternoon to let him know I appreciate how hard he works to support our family.
My husband and I always text each other ‘I Love You’ with a little kissy face icon beside it every morning.
Whats fun, is get up early before he does, and smear shaving cream on the bathroom mirror and write a love note. <3 🙂
I sat him down and told him how much he means to me. I told him I love him and I love the way he provides for our faintly.
I texted him and told him something special.
Wow! What a message to get today in my email – Tell him in words. My words to him when I left this morning weren’t very nice. I think I will have to do extra work with my words. Thanks for reminding me of the power of my words.
Taking him to lunch and telling him I’m so blessed he’s my husband. Planning on having dessert at home…
I always text my husband at least once a day while he is at work to let him know I am thinking about him. Last weekend we had planned a date night, to go out to a nice restaurant and have some drinks. So last Friday, I text him, “Hey Lover, I cant wait for our weekend together…love you so much”. He responds right away, “I cant wait either, I love you more”.
I texted him because I saw this after I got to work. “You are a wonderful farmer” We just began farming this year and he loves it. I am not a farm girl so hopefully he can feel appreciated today for growing our food…
I posted an “I Love You” note on his coffee machine, so he couldn’t miss it. Also sent a note on facebook saying the same.
I texted him because it was too late to put an encouraging note where he’d see it before he leaves, saying, “I just want you to know I thank God for you every day,” from your post of 21 things. I’ve been writing him a note for him to take to work every day since he started his new job last December, and he opens them at work over lunch. I want to find fun places to put other notes, too. 🙂
To My Valentine. (Drew heart) Thanks for making dinner. Xoxo
Put post-it in middle if steering wheel in work truck.
Yesterday left a steamy Valentine’s card in truck w/small box choc. 😉
Writing one heart note per today. Also sent a text of me blowing him a heart kiss.
